What is Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)?
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a community-driven program. It’s designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in one of the participating communities.
Sault Ste. Marie, ON – RNIP
Located on the banks of the St. Marys River, Sault Ste. Marie is a city in the south-central region of the province of Ontario in Canada. The newly launched Sault Ste. Marie RNIP is a pathway that can get you Canadian PR through the community.
This pilot is designed to support economic development in our community and strengthen the local business’s capacity to develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Applications of only those candidates with a job offer from a designated employer will be accepted under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot. Each of the three programs under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot demands different levels of requirements in terms of a job offer, work experience, and education. However, other requirements are the same for all three programs.
Process & Steps:
To be eligible for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program, you must meet all IRCC eligibility requirements. You must have:
- Work Experience: You need 1 year of continuous work experience (at least 1,560 hours). Your work experience must include most of the main duties and all the essential duties listed in your National Occupational Classification (NOC)
- Language requirements: NOC 0 and A: CLB/NCLC 6; NOC B: CLB/NCLC 5; NOC C and D: CLB/NCLC 4
- Educational requirements: Minimum 10th pass (Educational requirements based on the NOC code)
- Intend to live in the community
Full Time Employment
One of the requirements is that you are currently employed or have a job offer from an employer in Sault Ste. Marie.
Documentation
That documentation will include:
- Resume
- English Language test results: (eg. IELTS, CELPIP test report forms)
- Educational credential assessment
- Currently employed or a valid job offer from a local employer.
